The Proposed Mid-Michigan Energy Project

LocationMid-Michigan Energy is proposing to produce baseload electricity and steam for local industry and Michigan needs by constructing a highly efficient coal-fired power plant using the best available technologies. The electrical output of the plant would nominally be 750 megawatts (MW) with energy from the plant sold to wholesale providers, retail providers and industrial customers.

The plant would be located in southeastern Midland near the intersection of S. Saginaw road and Waldo Avenue. The property is located in close proximity to existing industry and is near existing infrastructure (e.g. railroad, high voltage transmission system).
